Swords Nursing Home
Swords Nursing Home is situated in north County Dublin and is part of the Mowlam Healthcare Group. The building has an area of 2,000 square metres and is of single storey and block construction. The heating system consisted of traditional oil boilers combined with radiant underfloor heating. Energy costs at the site were very high and a cause of concern for the owners. They also wanted a better control system to provide individual consistent room temperature for residents.
Eco Life installed their Hybrid Heating System in 2009 which consisted of a 60 kw air to water heatpump combined with condensing oil boilers and smart controls. Electricity and oil have been monitored at the site and a saving of 70% has been accrued year on year. The home is also a more comfortable building to
live and work in as can be attested to by residents and staff alike. There is also a dramatic reduction in CO2 emissions at the site of over 200 tonnes.
