Gowran Abbey Nursing Home
Gowran Abbey is a fifty bed nursing home located 5 miles south of Kilkenny City. It was built in 2005, meeting all building regulation standards and measures 1800 metres squared in area. The building requires heat and domestic hot water 365 days a year. As a result, the home has a very high energy demand. The home owners where adamant that the heat levels currently enjoyed by the home could not be reduced. However, they were conscious that running costs could be reduced by using new technologies and tighter controls.
